Weight Vest Workout at the Austin Track

Here at Hyperwear, we’re committed to providing our customers, followers and fans with continuous education on how to train with our products! Twice a month we bring you the Hyper Training Lab circuit workout videos, and now we’re going to start posting weight vest focused workouts!

According to the article on the benefits of weighted vests, on,

“At the end of a study conducted by the European Journal of Applied Physiology after weight vest training, “group one produced much stronger gains in VO2 max and lactate threshold, two important factors of cardiovascular exercise.”

Weight vests are excellent training tools for everyone from professional athletes, to CrossFitters, to average gym-goers alike. By adding weight to your exercise routine, you’re burning more calories, increasing resistance, and challenging your muscles even more.

Weight vest workouts increase the cardiovascular demand and strength requirements to complete exercises, which means you’ll get more out of every move you make.

When you first begin weight vest training, we recommend your vest weigh no more than 10 percent of your body weight. Personally, my vest weighs five pounds and that’s definitely enough for me to feel the difference when running and working out.

The great thing about the Hyper Vest PRO weighted vest is that you can wear it while doing activities like running, walking, working out, golfing, doing chores, etc. You name it, you can wear the vest while doing it.

Enough about the benefits of weight vest training.. 🙂 Lets get to the workout. Hyperwear’s Director of Sales, Bret Hutchens, took his Hyper Vest Pro to the Austin High School track and did a simple workout routine made tougher and more challenging by wearing the weighed vest.

Bret’s weight vest workout:

  • 10 push-ups
  • 10 pull-ups
  • 5 dips
  • 5 chin-ups
  • 5 shoulder pull-ups
  • 400 meter run
  • Complete four rounds
