Adaptive P.E.
Physical Education
The SandBell® is safe for any P.E. class (Elementary, Middle, and High School) and can be coupled with any curriculum for strength, speed, agility, balance, flexibility and sport / skill training. Hyperwear has developed curriculum around the SandBells, providing teachers sets of easy activities to incorporate them.
“We have been using the SandBells since the beginning of the school year. We ordered the smaller SandBells, weighing 2 & 4 lbs. I have been using them daily in my APE classes for exercise – strength and stamina. We started out with the larger ones so the kids could feel and manipulate it. They like the texture, the feel, the way it moves in their hands. They can squeeze it to improve their grip strength and their fine motor coordination. They really like the sound of it when it hits the gym floor. The biggest thing I like about it is the safety issue of it. Anytime we try to build strength with special needs kids, there is always the safety factor with regular weight equipment. If they drop the SandBell on themselves, it does not hurt. There are a lot of positive aspects to how we use the SandBells and I love it. We use them every day. I highly recommend them.”

"As a specialist in Child Development and youth training I have had the opportunity to work with many diligent children from the ages of 3-9 months with my “Fit Moms” Program, and 3-5 year olds with my “SportFun” program, as well as instructing children of all ages on the autism spectrum.
The Sandbell is a safe, and durable, innovative way to disguise fitness with fun. We utilize them to enhance the child’s tactile stimulation, eye tracking, sensory integration, cognitive and motor development, as well as Neurological connections.
The Sandbells vibrant colors give the children the opportunity to use their vivid imaginations example: I often ask the kids to come up with a fruit or vegetable utilizing the color of the Sandbells, like red for apples. Then have them run and collect all the apples, etc. This wonderful invention has enhanced my methods of training, making the children excited and anticipating their next activity."
