Firefighter Workout with Hyper Vest PRO

This week we’re giving thanks to all of our servicemen and women with a little video of me doing a modified version of the Scott Firefighter Challenge event series. My good friend Evan Balfour of Pflugerville Fire Department put me through the paces, while wearing a 15lb Hyper Vest PRO at a local parking garage here in town. Michael Seril’s Workouts – Ages 13 & 84

Good Monday Morning!

We are back this week with another Michael Seril workout video.  In 2007 Michael received the Community Leadership Award from the President’s Council on Physical Fitness & Sports.

As you will see in this video, Michael truly trains everyone in his community, whether they are young or old, giving them excellent training and encouragement. Michael put together an excellent compilation of workouts he did with Berryl (who is 84) and Trevor (who is 13).

Michael shows the amazing diversity of training styles for varying degrees of fitness covered by the SandBell. Come and see the SandBell Training Extremes!

Dolly Walk with Hyper Weight Vest and SandBell Sandbag

Good Monday Morning!

Who doesn’t love training their core? Well, today I’m going to show you yet another way you can mix a SandBell with another great piece of training equipment…..We’re going into the training vault for this one, yes, it’s time for the return of the Ab Dolly! So I was thinking the other day while watching some of my athletes doing an Ab Dolly relay race, “What would happen if the Ab Dolly weighed much, much more?” So, I stopped the race and threw a 50lb SandBell on the Dollys and watched the madness ensue. Now it’s your turn to watch the madness, check out the video and then get to work!

Coach Dos’ Tabata Workout Featuring the Hyper Vest PRO & SandBell

Coach Dos Remedios just loves to make people sweat!  DO WORK! is his tagline and his personal mantra.

Coach Dos held a training session in Long Beach, CA at the recent Perform Better Summit.  In the video below, you will see just one of his Cardio Strength circuits that has made him famous.  We picked this video to highlight his use of the Hyper Vest PRO and SandBells at the workshop.

It is always great to see him make a room of athletes turn into a sweaty, sticky, strength sapping session of survivors.  If you finish one of his Tabata workouts with even just a little breath or strength in your body, then you did not give Coach Dos 100%!  DO WORK and GET HYPER!

Michael Seril’s SandBell Smorgasbord

On our recent trip to the LA, California area (Whittier to be exact) we had the pleasure of meeting Michael Y. Seril. 

Michael Seril is a nationally recognized and respected figure in the world of fitness and exercise. In June 2006 Michael was recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as the 2006 Personal Trainer of the Year.  In 2007 Michael received the Community Leadership Award from the President’s Council on Physical Fitness & Sports.

Michael Seril has been named the recipient of a 2010 Jefferson Award for Public Service.  Michael was awarded this prestigious honor for his public service in building the Excellence Through Exercise Foundation into a well-known force for the improvement of the lives of children.

Beach Workout – Single Arm Skull & Toss w/ SandBell

Good Monday Morning!

Sparrow and I are back on the beach for yet another SandBell/Cool Vest combo! We actually came up with this one back in Austin during a burnout set at our neighborhood pool.  We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Speaking of neighborhood pools, anyone else out there get looked at funny when you bring in a towel, stopwatch, 50lbs worth of SandBells, and some resistance bands to the pool? Don’t people get it? Some of us just love to train in all environments!

I do two pool conditioning workouts per week so if you’re in need of some ideas for training in the pool, send me a line and I’d be glad to help!

Fit Pit SandBell Slurpee

Last week Sparrow and I performed an original SandBell series named after its inventor (and the inventor of the SandBell), Cosmo Raines.  It was called the “Cosmic Slurpee”!

Well, while looking on YouTube, we found a Hyper Customer who was showing off a SandBell Slurpee (Slam + Burpee)!!!  We were so excited to see other fitness professionals getting into the fun that we decided to let you see her rendition of the Slurpee.  If you are in the Lacey, Washington area, you need to go to the Fit Pit, meet Susan Moore, and JOIN THE RESISTANCE™!

Today we’re taking to the beautiful outdoors of Austin, TX! We’re talking SandBells and TRX Suspension Training for the next several weeks and you are in for a good time, I promise you that!

If you are familiar with the TRX straps we’re talking about, you might be thinking “How can Bill combine one hands-dominant exercise with another?” Well, start with some good creative thinking, add in some quality pieces of training equipment with no limits to where we can exercise, and you’ve got yourself a training program! Enjoy this opening video on front squatting with the TRX and SandBells!

Key Points – Squatting in the split stance position is great for single leg strengthening and taking your overall leg strength and stability to a greater level instead of always doing a traditional base-stance squat.

We’ve reached the final week with CATZ Founder, Jim Liston, putting CATZ Austin Coach, Blake Gould, through the paces of the foundational movements of strength training. With the final progressions being introduced, Jim throws out some heavy hitters to finish the workout in Orlando, FL.
