SandBell Physical Education Series : Tower of Power – MMM #52

April 26th, 2010

Good Monday Morning!

This week we’re taking a little break from our equipment comparisons to explore a fun activity for a Physical Education setting.  We’re showing it with just one boy, but obviously you can do this with a group.

Check out our Tower of Power and get creative with your own ideas of how to make this part of an obstacle course!

SandBells mentioned in L.A. Times article!

April 26th, 2010

We’re blushing with pride over here at Hyper Wear! Roy Wallack, who writes a Health column for Los Angeles times, had some nice things to say about our SandBells. Read his article about Kettlebells…especially the last product review – “Sandbagging it.”

Thanks, Roy! And thanks to all of you who have SandBells and therefore know exactly what Roy is talking about!

Kettlebell Swing with SandBell and SteelBell – MMM #51

April 19th, 2010

Good Monday Morning!

So this week in the comparison series, we step up to the plate against one of the most popular training tools of late: the Kettlebell. Now, the Kettlebell offers absolutely wonderful benefits in full-body strength, stabilizing, and explosive movements; however, almost every one of these moves can be done using a SandBell or SteelBell.  The difference is, Kettlebells are notorious for causing bruising and worse injuries when used improperly while the SandBell and SteelBell are second to none when it comes to safety of a piece of weighted equipment.  In addition, there are so many moves you can perform with the SandBell and SteelBell that are just not possible with the Kettlebell.

Today’s video shows a very popular Kettlebell exercise, the traditional “swing” movement, but done with a SandBell and SteelBell.  I myself am not an avid Kettlebell user; however, several of my friends in training are.  Each and every one of them to whom I’ve showed Hyper Wear’s products have taken to them and seen the benefits instantly!

As always, feedback is welcomed because what is a forum of exercise videos without some good, healthy banter between fitness advocates!!

May’s Muscle and Fitness Magazine – Helloooo SandBell!

April 19th, 2010

Just saw that Hyper Wear SandBell sandbag and TRX are pictured in the May Muscle and Fitness. Picture is of pro baseball player Tom Holliday doing a prone TRX row with a 50 lb. SandBell on his chest. He is on the cover. This must have been taken at Hyde Park Gym in Austin. Here’s a quick shot of it that Dirk posted on Facebook for us.

We love Peter Shankman

April 19th, 2010

Ever hear of HARO (Help A Reporter Out)? Well, if not, let me enlighten you! It is the brain-child of Peter Shankman and is simply a way to connect folks who need to write an article or a book or something like that link with someone with the knowledge they need to write said article or book, etc.

A few short weeks ago, Cosmo contacted Mr. Shankman to thank him for all he does to help the flow of media in our country. He also sent him a Hyper Vest. We were thrilled to see his a video posted on his Facebook homepage in which he gives some top advice while wearing his new Hyper Vest…way to multi-task, buddy!!

Thanks for the support, Peter! We hope your vest serves you well!

Ballistic Dumbbell Chest Press with SandBell SteelBell – MMM #50

April 12th, 2010

Good Monday Morning!

You know, GEICO and its funny little gecko are famous for their guarantee of helping you figure out which insurance company you should go with by comparing the rates from all the other companies out there. Well, I decided to create the same concept here at Hyper Wear. It’s time to compare fitness equipment with our products – the SandBell and the SteelBell. By doing this, I know I’m going to convince you of the benefits and variety that Hyper Wear can bring to your training regiment.

This series is dedicated to comparing simple and well known exercises using Dumbbells, with the same but using our fun toys! Enjoy a little change up in your Dumbbell Chest Press this week and make sure you check back in next Monday for another exercise!

Partner Toss : TRX + Hyper Vest + SandBell – MMM #49

April 5th, 2010

Good Monday Morning!!

We’re continuing to find awesome ways to use the TRX Suspension Training.  They have lots of videos featuring excellent group training, so we decided to throw some partner work into the mix.  Here is a killer combo of SandBell tosses and single arm pull-ups with the TRX that will surely take your partner training to an extreme level!

Please Note: When using the TRX as one unit instead of the traditional two ropes, make sure to follow the safety instructions to avoid injury. Safety first, then have fun!

Have a great week of training!
