HISTORY

Hyper Wear began as a 'Touch of Grace' upon Cosmo Raines, during high school when he began training with a weight vest to improve his vertical for basketball and decided he could develop something far superior. Cosmo began refining his ideas during college at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX and later filed for and received a patent in 1999. In 2003, Cosmo finally found the specialized fabric that would make the Hyper Vest work just as he had imagined in high school.

Cosmo ventured out with the newly prototyped Hyper Vest, backed with lots of prayer, and began showing it to whomever took the time to listen. Along his path, Cosmo was lead to CATZ training center in Austin, where the head trainer, Bill Meyer, and his brother, Tim Meyer, showed interest in the Hyper Vest and allowed Cosmo access to the elite athletes and sports teams they trained. The prototypes werea hit and the owner of the Austin CATZ franchise, Dirk Buikema, became determined to help Cosmo bring the Hyper Vest to market. From there, Hyper Wear has been blessed with a rapid succession of new product ideas and partners such as the SandBell sandbag weight and the Hyper Precool Vest. The future is unlimited.

WHO LOVES HYPER WEAR? .......................................

James Cotter, Pro-Triathlete writing about the Hyper Vest weight vest and Hyper Precool Vest cooling vest:

"I often wear a Hyper Vest during a trail run or speed work on the track. Just 6 pounds added to my body weight is actually quite challenging and it definitely has helped increase my leg strength. Hyper Wear is also coming out with a cooling vest, the Hyper Precool Vest, to help athletes cool their core before training or competition. Its still the in the works right now but I got to try it out for a couple of weeks. I used it before and after long rides as well as on the trainer. It helped keep my body temperature down which is a tremendous help. I read claims by Nike that their precool vest provided to olympic athletes in Beijing could improve performance 21%."

Trey Hardee -US Olympic Decathlete - has been using the Hyper Vest weight vest in preparation for the 2009 season:

"I have never seen or used a weight vest like the Hyper Vest. It stays tight, comfortable and cool on my body enabling me to increase my bodyweight while training. It makes adding resistance to my workouts effortless and I would recommend it to any track and field athlete who is looking to take the next step."
